Ministry Of Energy And Infrastructure Marks Zayed Humanitarian Day
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) organized a host of charity initiatives to celebrate Zayed Humanitarian Day, observed on Ramadan 19 of every year.
The initiatives included distributing Ramadan food packs to blue-collar workers in the Ministry’s construction projects, handing out packaged iftar meals to motorists on the road at iftar time and the Ministry’s support staff, and sponsoring Umrah trips for a number of support staff.
His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said: “Zayed Humanitarian Day is a day of giving back to the society and represents a landmark in the UAE’s charitable efforts. Marking the day reflects our wise leadership’s commitment to continuing on the same path of giving and altruism that was charted by the UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. On this occasion, we vow to stay the course and place the wellbeing of our citizens and residents at the top of our national priorities.”
He added: “Charitable and humanitarian work is embedded in the culture of our community, reaching people in need wherever they are across the globe. The UAE was one of the first countries to extend a helping hand to our brothers and sisters who were affected by the devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey. This is but one of many examples of the country’s philanthropic efforts.”
