His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei Witnesses Strategic Session To Explore The Requirements Of Sustainable Development

His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, today attended a strategic session organized by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) in its headquarters in Dubai. The gathering drew the participation of the Ministry’s leadership, including His Excellency Eng Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, His Excellency Eng Hassan Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs, and assistant undersecretaries.

Titled ‘Heading into the Future’, the session featured a study of the data used to update the Ministry’s strategic plan in line with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision. Participants explored the future requirements and growing challenges of sustainable development to shape the future direction of the Ministry.

MoEI set eight focus areas for the session, including petroleum, assets, construction, roads, housing, transport, electricity, and water. The participants explored these areas, in addition to ways to support and contribute to the success of the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), to be hosted in the UAE in November 2023.

His Excellency Al Mazrouei said: “The strategic session is in line with our commitment to adopting an agile and progressive approach to address key future challenges in the energy, infrastructure, land and marine transport, and housing sectors and turn them into opportunities for development. Being future-ready entails hard work and seamless coordination. We will continue to join forces with our strategic partners from the federal and local government and the private sector to develop effective methodologies and policies and launch meaningful initiatives.”

The Minister applauded the dedication of MoEI’s work teams, who made notable contributions to the UAE’s development.
