In the run-up to the new academic year, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has completed the maintenance work of six public schools and two nurseries in the Eastern region, in collaboration with Emirates Schools Establishment and the Department of Educational Facilities.

Eng Haliemah Alshehhi, Director of the Eastern Region Projects Department at MoEI, said: “The Ministry is committed to upgrading school buildings and facilities to the highest standards to make UAE schools worldclass models, meeting the aspirations and enhancing the leadership of our nation in the educational field. Maintaining school facilities to ensure a safe environment for our children is at the heart of building a competitive educational ecosystem. MoEI follows a comprehensive and sustainable maintenance approach, primarily based on the requirements of green buildings and academic accreditation.”

Maintenance works included applying the branding guidelines of the Emirates Schools Establishment, increasing the capacity and ensuring optimal use of school buildings, replacing the floorings, establishing student waiting rooms, and implementing highest green building and sustainability criteria through the use of environment-friendly materials and LED lights to save energy.
