His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei Participates in Ministerial Roundtable at ADIPEC

His Excellency Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, participated in a Ministerial Leadership Roundtable on ‘Strengthening Energy Security and Resilience Through Diversification’, as part of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2025. He highlighted how the UAE diversifies its energy mix to enhance energy security, promote economic and industrial growth, and drive climate action, as the country has committed to achieving net zero by 2050.

His Excellency Al Mazrouei emphasized that the UAE’s energy security strategy is built on four main pillars — Diversification, Redundancy, Affordability, and Resilience — supporting the nation’s long-term vision for sustainable development and reliable power supply through integrated planning, regional cooperation, and innovation.

The Minister noted that in the UAE, decarbonization and energy security are complementary, not conflicting. The nation’s strategy aligns both objectives through diversification, innovation, and advanced technology deployment.

He said: “The UAE’s integrated energy strategy demonstrates that decarbonization strengthens energy security. It achieves this by fostering efficiency, sustainability, and resilience across the power system, laying the foundation for a low-carbon, energy-secure future. The UAE pursues a diversified portfolio of oil, natural gas, renewables, and nuclear energy, each playing a strategic and complementary role. Investing in renewables is central to the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and is in line with the historic COP28 UAE Consensus. Our goal is to triple renewable capacity by 2030.”
