UAE participates in Clean Energy Meeting in Canada

OTTAWA, 1st February, 2018 (WAM) -- The UAE is participating in the preparatory meeting for the 8th Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting, now running here, where innovative sustainability initiatives have been discussed.
The meeting occasioned a review of the renewable energy initiatives approved during 2017 in addition to new initiatives for the 2018, including one on using nuclear power as a clean energy source.
On the sidelines of the forum, Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Industry, who is leading the UAE delegation to the meeting, met with the Forum Secretary General as well a number of international officials, where prospects of mutual cooperation in areas of energy and innovation were discussed.
Attending the meeting were Engineer Fatma Al Shamsi, Assistant Under-Secretary for Electricity, and Future Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Industry and a number of Ministry officials.
The 8th Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting will held in Copenhagen in May.
