The South Korean- UAE team holds its joint meeting on water cooperation

In the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Korea in 2015 for cooperation in the field of water, the Joint Working Group held its second meeting today in Seoul.
H.E Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Industry, chaired the UAE side of the Joint Working Group while H.E Mr. Park Young, Director General of the Ministry of Land, Water, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Korea, chaired the Korean side in the Joint Working Group. In this meeting, cooperating efforts were discussed including the exchange of experiences on advanced desalination technologies, groundwater resource management, production capacity, reverse osmosis desalination plants, intelligent management of water networks, dam management, and water map and water balance.
The meeting was attended by H.E Eng. Fatima Mohammed Al Foora Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Water Affairs, H.E Rashed Al Shamsi, Deputy State Ambassador to Korea, representatives of the Energy Department of Abu Dhabi, the Environment Authority of Abu Dhabi, and also Dubai Electricity and Water Authority. It was agreed that the third meeting will be held in UAE during the first week of March 2019. The first meeting was held in January 2017 on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
