The Ministry of Energy and Industry signs a contract for the study of rainwater harvesting and flood protected facilities

On behalf of the initiatives of H.H the President of UAE, H.E Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Industry, signed a contract with the Dornier Consulting International to provide consultancy services for updating and completing hydrological studies of rainwater harvesting, and for protecting facilities from floods in the northern region of UAE and Al Ain at the Ministry's headquarters in Dubai.
The project consultants will work with the Department of Dams in the Ministry to provide recommendations and suggestions for the construction of dams, and the necessary protection against the floods based on a scientific model that will be applied on the basis of rainfall data in the country during the past years, to be parallel and supportive of the integrated operational plan of the Ministry, and through the preparation of the minimum protection standards against floods. The project is expected to be completed according to the time plan of six months from the date of signing the contract. For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Industry praised the efforts of His Highness the President of the UAE and the funding of the Committee for this vital project as well as the efforts of the National Center for Meteorology for their cooperation in providing the data required for the preparation of the study.
