28 million cubic meters of rainwater held by dams

Large quantities of water from rain have gathered behind 51 dams of the Ministry of Energy and Industry on Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14 that it exceeded 27.8 million cubic meters, an increase of 210% over the total annual average amount of rain, according to the report of the ministry.
H.E. Dr. Matar Al-Neyadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Industry, said: The dams of the Ministry of Energy and Industry harvested more than 27.879 million cubic meters as a result of good rain during the 13th and 14th of April. The rains were concentrated in the northern, eastern and central parts of the country.
He explained that the water in the dams has been distributed among the dams in the northern region, whose lakes were filled with water amounting to 23.49 million cubic meters. The most prominent of these dams are: The lakes of Al-Beih dam, Qadaah dam, Nahilah dam, Al-Ghail 4 dam, Al-Ghail 2 dam, Al-Eim dam and Shaam Dam. As for the eastern region, the amount of water in the available dams was 2.64 million cubic meters. The most prominent of the dams in this region are Al-Fay barrier 1, Rumth Dam, Hamad Dam (B), Laban Dam, Al-Hail Dam, Al-Eim Dam, Safad Dam (B), Dam Sakamkam 1, Dam Sakamkam 2 and Sakamkam Dam 5. Meanwhile, the amount of water reached 1.73 million cubic meters in the dams of the central region, the most important of which are Shouka dam, al-qowa dam, mamdouh dam, al-ajili dam and al-maneai barrier. The lakes of the dams in the northern regions accounted for 87% of the total water collected in the dams caused by rainfall.
- The Northern Area
In the northern region, the data showed that 23 million cubic meters of total water collected in its dams were distributed between Al-Beih dam, where the water in the dam that was recorded reached 33.5 meters, and in the lake of Ghalila dam recorded 7 meters; in the lake of Qedaa dam reached 7.2 meters and in a lake of Naheela dam by 5 meters. Also, in the lake of Al Daoudi dam reached 3 meters, and in the lake of Al-Ghail 4 by 4.5 meters; and in the lake of Al-Ghail 2 by 8.5 meters. Moreover, in the Lake of Adhen dam the water reached 5 meters, and in the lake of Al-A'im dam it was 11.5 meters, and in the lake of Kub Dam 1 the water attained 2.5 meters, and in Kub 4 Dam Lake it recorded 3 meters, and in the lake of Kub 2 Dam recorded 3 meters, and in Lake Sudr Dam (A) was 4 meters. In Lake Sidr dam (B) the water level was 7.5 meters, and in the lake of Shum dam it was 8 meters, as well as the elevation of water in the lake of Twain Dam that was 11 meters.
- Eastern Province
The amount of water harvested by the dams of the Eastern region amounted to more than 2.649 million cubic meters as the Al-Fai Dam recorded a rise in the water of 3.4 meters in its lake, and in the lake of Al-Fay barrier by 2 meters, and in the lake of Al-Basira barrier - tile factory by 1.2 meters, and in the dam of lake Basira at 3.8 meters. In addition, in Lake Mei the water reached 3 meters, and at lake of Rumth dam reached 4 meters; and at Lake Hamad (A) by 1.9 meters, and at lake Hamad (B) it recorded 3 meters, and at lake Sad Laban by 9 meters. In the lake of Al Hail dam water elevated to 8.5 meters, and in the lake of Sharm Dam by two meters, and in lake Al-Eim by 0.8 meters, and in the lake of Al-Eim dam by 8 meters; and in the lake of Sakamkam dam by 1.4 meters, in the lake of Safad main dam by 9 meters, and in the lake of Safad dam (B) by 3 meters, in the lake of Safad dam (C) by one meter. In the lake of Theeb dam the water reached one meter, and in the lake of Ham main dam is 2 meters high, the water at the Sakamkam 3 barrier lake is 0.5 meters, and 5 meter at the lake of Sakamkam 5 barrier, and 6.5 meter at Sakamkam 1 barrier, and 4.5 km at Sakamkam dam 2 lake, and in the Ham dam (C) Lake the water reaches 1.7 meters high, and 0.8 meters high in lake Ham Dam (B)(0.8 meters), and 0.8 meters high in lake Ein Madhab (A-B) dam lake.
- Central Region
The amount of water harvested by the dams of the Central region amounted to more than 1.736 million cubic meters. Al-Manai'i barrier recorded a rise of 5.4 m in the barrier lake, and a 4.9 m rise in the dam of Tewa lake, 8 m in the lake of Al Ajili lake, and 4.8 m in the lass barrier, as well as the height of water in lake of Lass barrier by 4.8 meters, and the height of water in the lake of Rabqa dam by 4 meters, and the height of water in Lake Dam Alqour by 4 meters, as well as the height of water in lake Dam Shouka by 8 meters, as well as water in the lake dam Mamdouh by 4 meters, as well as the height of water in Lake Burak dam by 1.2 meters.
