MOEI honors the employees and partners who have won the Innovation Award

The Ministry of Energy and Industry organized a ceremony at the Government Accelerator Building to announce the names of employees and partners who have been awarded the EWX2017 Foreign Innovation Awards; awards that focus on innovative solutions to the energy and water challenges of the industry using the 10X methodology. Some 309 applications were received and around 50 applications were selected in the first phase, and 15 in the second phase. They were the finalists in the four-month award program. The participants split into three groups with three innovative ideas and presented them to the jury of experts in innovation and research in technology, energy and water.
His Excellency Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Industry, said in his opening speech that innovation is the key tool for creating a bright and sustainable future for the energy, water and the industry sectors by proposing advanced solutions using technology, knowledge, science and research. He added that the Ministry of Energy and Industry is keen to interact and cooperate with its strategic partners in all fields, notably providing a healthy environment for innovation, and supporting and benefiting from their innovative initiatives, stressing that teamwork promotes integration and sustainability. H.E, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, thanked Ms. Hind Al Mutawa, the CEO of Innovation, and thanked the team for their efforts in implementing the Ministry's strategy for innovation.
The following institutions were participating in this award: Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, Nuclear Energy Corporation, Burooj, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Municipality, UAE University, American University of Sharjah and Dubai Airports. The program also gives the participants certificates of innovation in the first phase from one of the global innovation institutions. The Ministry also announced the winners of the Interior Award for the employees of the Ministry, which aims to encourage employees to provide suggestions, ideas and innovative initiatives that contribute to the development of the working environment, and for the development of the energy sector. Both staff and strategic partners showed their presentations and explained their ideas and innovative initiatives. They were then honored by the leadership of the Ministry.
