The Ministry of Energy and Industry celebrates UAE Women's Day

In the presence of His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry and H.E Mariam Al Muhairi, Minister of State Responsible for the Food Security, the Ministry of Energy and Industry held its annual celebration on Women's Day under the slogan "Zayed Approach".

H.E Sheikh Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry, said: "Today we proudly celebrate the achievements and sacrifices of our mothers and sisters, the daughters of Zayed, and they are on Zayed's approach, and they are offering honorable models for Arab Muslim women. Happy Women’s Day to You!”. His Excellency praised the efforts and achievements of the Ministry's working team, especially the women who contributed in directing and launching a number of strategies, most notably the Energy Strategy 2050, the Water Security Strategy 2036, and other initiatives and projects, as well as representing the UAE in international events.

HE Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry said: “We are proud of the accomplishments of the UAE women on the approach of late Sheikh Zayed, which has made them an example of distinction, excellence, giving and sacrifice in achieving successes in various fields and contributing to the wheel of development and excellence to serve our dear country”.

 For her part, H.E Fatima Al Foora Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Electricity and Future Energy Sector at the Ministry said: "Emirati women have demonstrated and continue to demonstrate their competence and excellence in all their responsibilities and tasks, and emphasized their strong presence and effective contribution to serving their country in various fields of work, including their work in the armed forces, space, education, judiciary, innovation, health, science, energy and technology. In the past years, the energy sector has witnessed a significant presence of the UAE women and a large participation on various levels”.

 The proportion of UAE women working in the Ministry of Energy and Industry is 54% and the percentage of Emirati women leaders is 20% in the Ministry.

The Ministry distributed in cooperation with Jawhara Jewels a gold bracelet with the flag of UAE specially designed for the female employees of the Ministry on UAE Women's Day.

The ceremony also included recreational, healthy and relaxing activities in an atmosphere of interactive and constructive dialogue. This celebration is an affirmation that women have a vital role to play, and their clear fingerprints on the work and performance map. The Emirati woman has achieved a prominent position in society and has fully fulfilled its responsibilities beside men in various fields of work through its effective contribution to economic, social and cultural transformations, through her following of the teachings of the true Islamic religion and high Arab values”.

 It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Energy and Industry is interested in adding activities and initiatives dealing with women and the family through educational, awareness, health and recreational workshops, and celebrating their International Women's Day and the UAE Women's Day. The Ministry distributed gifts on this occasion to a number of distinguished female employees working in the federal government.
