H.E Suhail Al Mazrouei participates in the opening of the 18th International Conference and Exhibition of the International Road Federation

His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure revealed that the Ministry aims to develop basic drivers of flexible policies and laws that stimulate a gradual transformation and encourage the UAE sectors in general and the private sector in particular for the smart multimodal transport system and encourage the investment in smart transport by creating an incubating environment with balanced economic, environmental, and social benefits and incentives.

During his participation in the opening of the 18th World Conference and Exhibition of the International Road Federation, which is hosted by the Emirate of Dubai from November 7 to November 10, His Excellency stressed that the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure seeks, through its ambitious initiatives, qualitative projects and legislation, to consolidate the position of the United Arab Emirates as a pioneer global model in the transport sector, which represents a major driver of the sustainable development system and national economies; and that the Ministry aims, through cooperation with its strategic partners in various sectors, to develop proactive quality initiatives that support a smooth transition for the next fifty years, leading to the UAE Centennial 2071; in addition to its role in maintaining the UAE's advanced position in the global competitiveness indicators..

His Excellency stated that the Ministry has completed many federal road projects that serve the various regions of the country, which reflects the Ministry's keenness to develop and improve the road network, which meets the needs of population and urban expansion and accommodates the growing increase in traffic. The length of the federal roads in the UAE has reached more than 900 km, while the length of the lanes for the federal roads has reached 4,300 km, which contributed to the UAE’s being ranked first in the world in the “Satisfaction with the Roads and Highways System” index from Legatum Institute.

In his speech, His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei said: “The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has developed a five-years plan for the infrastructure and road projects to support the development plans of the UAE and maintain its global leadership position in various fields, especially those related to the transport system and supports the infrastructure system in the country, and its orientations towards providing a decent life for the citizens and residents, and the future goals of the state”.

His Excellency stressed that to preserve the qualitative achievements it achieved during its career, the Ministry has developed a comprehensive vision that enhances the complementarity of work between the federal and local government agencies, in addition to involving the private sector in the development and growth process, anticipating changes, and planning for the future, which contributes to transforming the challenges into real opportunities that support the directions of the UAE government..
