Fees Details

UAE national: Registration fee for a pleasure boat owned by a UAE national - tonnage x AED 4.5, with a minimum of 100 AED and a maximum of 10,000 dirhams annual tax. Total tonnage x AED 2 with a minimum of 20 AED Foreigner: Foreigner-owned excursion boat registration fee - payload x 6.5 minimum AED 500

Required Documents

Documents required from a UAE national:

  • The age of the applicant for registration shall not be less than (18) eighteen years old
  • Presenting a personal identification document - Emirates ID
  • Presenting a parking certificate for the boat at one of the designated marinas in the country, or a home overlooking the sea, or a resident of the islands, or a certificate of registration of a trailer licensed by the Ministry of Interior, or a statement indicating the availability of parking.
  • Submission of a document proving ownership of the boat (an invoice attested by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as a building certificate) for new boats (or a bill of sale attested by the notary public (for used boats) or a bill of sale and a deletion certificate from one of the ministry’s offices or a certified sales invoice or a customs declaration for the boats imported from outside the country or a final court ruling to prove ownership.
  • Submit a copy of an insurance policy valid for 13 months issued by an insurance company licensed in the UAE in the field of marine insurance.
  • Submit an inspection report or a technical report for the pleasure boat issued by the authority or whomever it authorizes.
  • Installing the radio equipment on any boat of more than 35 feet in length licensed by  the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.
  • Submission of a no-objection certificate from the government entity in case the pleasure boat is registered under the name of the government entity
  • Installing the coast guard safety device

 

Documents required for a foreigner:

  • The age of the applicant for registration shall not be less than (18) eighteen years old
  • Presenting a personal identification document - Emirates ID (Passport & Residence)
  • The total monthly income is not less than 20 thousand dirhams according to a salary certificate issued by a competent governmental authority or an approved work contract or owner / partner in a commercial license, and its capital should not be less than 150 thousand dirhams, or any document to prove income accepted by the Authority.
  • Presenting a parking certificate for the boat at one of the designated marinas in the country, or a home overlooking the sea, or a resident of the islands, or a certificate of registration of a trailer licensed by the Ministry of Interior, or a statement indicating the availability of parking.
